There are some things that money cannot buy and that includes the health of these athletes. Professional athletes also find themselves working through hectic travel plans and hotel-living situations. In conclusion, I have made my arguments as to why I believe that professional athletes deserve what they are paid.

We live in a world of supply and demand; this directly applies to the ample supply of sports entertainment that we indulge in without apology or second thoughts.

Most people argue that athletes do not deserve the excessive sum of money they are paid while others feel that they do deserve that their high salaries.

This helps them when they are playing the game but once they retire, many athletes cannot afford to buy high priced medicines to offset the pain anymore.

In the case of athletes, they go on a two week paid vacation, otherwise known as the day disabled list. The real problem is that athletes are seen as role models. When a professional athlete is not involved in an actual game, you most likely will not find them lounging on a couch with a trail of potato chip crumbs on their sweatshirts.

We question just how much skill it takes to run after a ball in direct comparison to some of the other professions within our society. They can also acquire titles that cause positive perceptions of their fellowmen.

In short they are bringing with them the reputation of their entire country and fellowmen. How much easier is it to point a finger at that particular third baseman, as opposed to owning our own faults?

Therefore, I believe that they do deserve the money they are being paid. Certainly, an unscrupulous businessman may try to deceive consumers about the true nature of what he is selling, but that is more accurately classified as theft rather than commerce and properly is subject to legal sanctions.

With the duration of the average sports season lasting between four and seven months, athletes practice nearly every day to include the offseason. Where does all this money come from to pay these awesome athletes this kind of money?
